A rare sight in Burrard Inlet Thursday morning when passengers on a SeaBus spotted a pod of orcas.
The orcas surfaced in front of a vessel near Lonsdale Quay at one point causing slight delays for the riders of a SeaBus but Translink indicated the vessel was only about a minute late when it arrived at the terminal.
"We can confirm a SeaBus lowered its speed this morning to allow a pod of orcas to pass at a safe distance," a spokesperson said in an email.
CTV News reports the pod first turned up at around 8:30 a.m. and passengers like Gwyn Jones took the opportunity to snap pictures and videos.
