Police hunting flasher

Police in North Vancouver are warning the public about a male that exposed himself to a young girl last week.

RCMP say a lone man driving a silver SUV on May 15 around 3:40 p.m. approached a 13-year-old female in the 200 block of 27th Ave. West, in North Vancouver.

“The man called her over on the pretense of asking for directions. When she approached, he made a lewd comment and exposed his genitals,” said Sgt. Peter DeVries. “The young female ran away and was not physically harmed.”

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, 40-50 years old, slight unknown accent, balding with brown hair on the sides, black sunglasses, double chin and wearing a blue and white zippered sweater.

A police sketch of the suspect is being released. The incident is similar to reports in North Vancouver in the past year. Police say they are investigating a possible link, but are currently treating last week's flashing as a separate incident.
