This Friday’s Ellis on the Rise block party hosted by the Downtown Penticton Association will also be raising money for youth outdoor summer programs.

Hoodoo Adventure Company will be collaborating with Cannery Brewing and Mile Zero Wine Bar to provide a beverage garden for the event, with proceeds going to the Youth Outdoor Recreation Society.

“Hoodoo Adventures jumped at the opportunity to use Ellis on the Rise to raise money for getting local kids active outdoors,” said Hill. “This could help a whole classroom of kids to participate in an outdoor program!”

Hill is hoping the beverage garden can raise $800. It will be situated across from a stage that will feature live music from 5-8 p.m. The Penticton Fire Department will also be holding a barbecue selling burgers and hotdogs with proceeds going to the same charity.

The DPA is touting the Ellis on the Rise block party as a free family-friendly event full of activities. This year there will also be a new inflatable jousting event for youth and adults. More details here.
