And, the survey says

A select number of Lake Country households will be asked to give their opinions on services provided by the municipality.

Residents, picked at random, will be asked to complete a 28-question 'community survey.'

The surveys are going out in the mail this week.

“Residents’ input on programs and services offered by the District of Lake Country will help the municipality make important decisions on future community investment,” said community development director Mark Koch.

“The results of the community survey will also contribute to the district having a better understanding of the values and priorities of residents. The last community survey for Lake Country residents was completed in 2015.”

About 40 per cent of residents who received surveys in 2015 responded.

The municipality hopes to receive at least 400 surveys, which would provide statistically valid data to help in future decision making.

Surveys will also be available online and at municipal hall for those residents who do not receive one in the mail.

“Council often gets the opportunity to hear from the community on very specific current issues, but in developing the 2019 Community Survey, it was important to them that it be kept concise yet broad enough to elicit feedback on a number of issues from roadways and transportation to recreational programs and facilities,” said Koch.

The deadline for returning the survey is June 7.

Respondents to the mail survey will be entered into a draw to win one of three prizes, including:

  • Oyama Zipline Family of 4 Zipline Pass Gift Certificate (valued at over $400.00)
  • Main Street Gift Certificates Package ($25 Chopsticks, $25 Winfield Bakery, $25 Olive Use, and $25 Kangaroo Creek Farm)
  • $50 gift certificate to Greek House restaurant.
