Falls off horse, unconscious

Contributed

A woman who was thrown from a horse along McLean Creek Road in Okanagan Falls has reportedly been airlifted to Kelowna General Hospital.

Okanagan Falls fire crews and emergency response were called to the scene just after 1 p.m. when the horse had made its way back to the stable riderless.

''The woman was approximately about 200 feet off the road. The call came in that she fell off the horse and was unconscious, but breathing, said Okanagan Falls deputy chief Fred Dobransky.

A witness on scene said the area was full of commotion.

''They are just loading her in the helicopter. I don't know how long she was out here for,'' the witness said.

At this time, it's unclear how the woman fell off the horse.
