Shooting victim GoFundMe

Darlene Knippelberg was one of the four victims of the quadruple homicide in Penticton Monday, and a friend of the family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help.

Daniella Iannone launched the fundraising page Thursday afternoon, aiming to raise $5,000 to support Darlene's children.

"Gary, along with his wife, Lorita, are now dealing with the loss of his Mom as well as taking care of his special needs sister," Iannone wrote on the campaign page.

She also wrote about the hardship facing Darlene's family members.

"This sudden loss has impacted the family in many different ways. Losing a parent is one of the hardest times a family can go through, but losing her is such an unexpected way is unimaginable," she wrote.

The money will go towards a funeral, medication for Darlene's daughter and to travel expenses for family members coming to town.

"We do not want this family to have to deal with any more stressors than they have already been given," Iannone wrote.

The campaign had reached $240 of its $5,000 goal as of 9 p.m. Thursday. To view the campaign, click here
