Aye Aye, Captain!

A BC Ferries vessel could be yours.

The Howe Sound Queen was recently put up for auction and the high bid on Thursday afternoon is $10,751.

The auction listing on the GovDeals website says the 55-year-old vessel is expected to remain in service until June, as reported by CTV News. It will then be “kept warm and in operational state.”

Built in 1964, the vessel has room for 300 people and 52 cars.

But don’t let the age sway you – the vessel has no known issues and is currently operational and working. The 1,609 horsepower ferry can still make 9.75 knots.

So far, 21 people have tried to bid for the vessel and the Howe Sound Queen will be on the market until April 30 at 2 p.m.
