This time, it wasn't a drill.

Police and Emergency Response Team personnel were suddenly called away from a training exercise to a real-time situation Thursday afternoon.

Castanet reporter Nich Johansen was on the scene and said seven or eight RCMP vehicles as well are ERT and police service dogs descended on an irrigation store parking lot on Spall Road across from the ESSO station.

They had their guns drawn and on a white SUV in the parking lot.

"They opened their doors with their guns pointed into it. It looked empty. The RCMP dog was jumping around while they were searching it," said Johansen from the scene.

One witness told Castanet he saw one man, the driver of the SUV, arrested.

An officer at the scene confirmed a person was arrested but would provide no other details.

Police have yet to respond to a request for more information.
