Vipers down 3-0

The Vernon Vipers are behind the eight ball, trailing 3-0 in the best-of-seven series against the Prince George Spruce Kings.

The Vipers rallied late in regulation to force OT, but the Spruce Kings outlasted the Snakes in a 4-3 overtime win in game three of the BC Hockey League finals.

The Vipers kept pressure on the Spruce Kings throughout the contest but in the end, the Poisson proved to be the undoing for the Vipers.

Early in the third period, Nick Poisson jumped on a rebound to give Prince George the lead once again.

That lead would hold up for most of the period until Lane Zablock struck again with hsi second of the noght to make it 3-3 forcing overtime.

In overtime, Ben Poisson ended the game 12 minutes into the extra period sliding home a rebound to give the Spruce Kings the win and a commanding series lead.

Game four goes tonight at Kal Tire Place.

The puck drops at 7 p.m.

A Vipers win would send the series back to Prince George for game five April 19.
