Still holding out hope

Twenty-eight years of worrying have taken a toll on the family of Michael Dunahee, but they refuse to give up hope.

The four year old went missing from a Victoria playground in 1991.

"Twenty-eight years ago today, my son disappeared. It was the hardest day of my life,” his father Bruce Dunahee told CTV News during an annual walk to raise money for Child Find BC.

The file remains open, say police, who believe someone out there knows what happened to Michael.

"We have one common goal, and that is to find Michael Dunahee.... We're asking people to step forward," said Victoria Police Chief Manak.

The annual walk helps keep Michael's story in the public eye.

"For our family, it just shows us that they won't give up as long as we continue keeping the hope alive. We're not giving up, and they're not giving up," said his mother, Crystal.
