Violin returned to owner

A mother and daughter say they are forever grateful after their missing violin was found and returned.

A group of Good Samaritans saw a red violin case sitting outside BMO in downtown Kelowna on Friday, with no owner in sight.

The group said their first instinct was to head to Castanet to see if a story could be posted in hopes the owner and violin might be reunited.

Sasara Andriamparany saw the article and knew right away it belonged to her daughter.

''I didn't even know it was missing until I saw the article. Once I read that it was found at BMO, I knew it was ours. We were at the bank waiting to get a tow because our car wasn't working, and we had so much going on that we just left it there by mistake.''

''The violin belongs to my daughter, so she is very happy to know I am bringing it home,'' Andriamparany said Monday.
