Vancouver Island's busiest ferry terminal is getting a major commercial makeover.
BC Ferries' Swartz Bay terminal in Sidney will see a waterfront boardwalk and rooftop patio on a revamped cafeteria area along with road improvements, green space and a children's play area.
Work could begin in a couple of years at the terminal, which sees 7.5 million travellers a year, CTV News reports.
"We're at all-time record highs right now in terms of foot passengers and passenger vehicles," spokesperson Mark Wilson told CTV.
The multimillion-dollar project is part of BC Ferries' 25-year plan for the terminal.
