Renee Wasylyk has dropped a gauntlet at the feet of Tracy Gray.
It's unclear whether it was picked up.
The two women are seeking the federal Conservative nomination in Kelowna-Lake Country for the upcoming October election.
In a news release Tuesday, Wasylyk says she has invited Gray to take part in a public forum March 29 at the Ramada Hotel.
She stated the forum would give party members a chance to learn more about the candidates and ask questions.
Each candidate would have a chance to offer an opening statement, before opening the floor to questions.
“As I have been meeting with members in Kelowna and Lake Country, I have been asked time and time again about a forum,” said Wasylyk. “I wanted to give people the opportunity to learn, to get activated for the election, and to make sure that the contestant they choose is done from a place of democracy.”
Dan Rogers, executive director of the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce, will moderate the forum.
Wasylyk says a formal invitation was sent to Gray earlier this week. She says Gray has not yet responded.
Calls to Gray have not yet been returned.
Party members in Kelowna-Lake Country will select a nominee April 6. The winner will try and regain the seat from Liberal MP Stephen Fuhr.
