RCMP take down a suspect Monday afternoon.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP have arrested a man following a disturbance on Alexis Park Drive early Monday evening.

Const. Kelly Brett said on March 18 just before 5 p.m., police responded to a disturbance in the 4200 block of Alexis Park Drive.

Police arrived to find the male suspect running from his residence, north along Alexis Park Drive.

“At this time, front-line officers attempted to apprehend the male, however when doing so, the male allegedly assaulted officers, uttered threats and attempted to damage a police vehicle,” said Brett. “The male was quickly taken into custody by officers and transported to the RCMP detachment where he remains in custody.”

A 31-year-old Vernon male is facing possible charges of assault, assaulting a peace officer, uttering threats and mischief.
