Cop stops to shoot hoops

A group of Surrey boy thought they were in trouble with the law.

It turned out the cop just wanted to shoot some hoops on Sunday, spending about 15 minutes playing with the kids.

Kalel Dizon, Tanveer Dhillon, Jakob Celso and Tariq Ali were playing basketball in the street when a police cruiser pulled up, CTV News reports.

"I thought we were in trouble," Celso told CTV. "He came over and asked, 'Can I play?'"

"It was really fun and awesome," added Dizon. "It was really surprising."

Kalel's father, Ereen Dizon, said it was a heartwarming moment.

"It was really cool to see (him) take the time out for the kids," he said.
