Assault suspect nabbed

A man wanted for assault related to a kidnapping in Kamloops that ended with a tactical team takedown in Kelowna on Valentine's Day has been arrested near Kaleden.

Robert James Rennie was arrested without incident Thursday by Penticton RCMP, after a traffic stop in a rural area west of Kaleden.

He was wanted following an incident in which two males were robbed and a female kidnapped in Kamloops.

Rennie is charged with assault causing bodily harm, says Sgt. Nestor Baird of the Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit.

Meanwhile, Kamloops RCMP continue to search for Gordon Braaten and Hugh Alex McIntosh, who are charged with murder and attempted murder in relation to a shooting at a home on Tranquille Road in Kamloops on Feb. 15.

Warrants have been issued for their arrest, and if anyone has information on their whereabouts, they are urged to call 911 immediately.  Do not approach the men, as they are considered armed and dangerous.  If you wish to remain anonymous, contact CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
