Robber hits 4 banks in 1 day

Police in Surrey have announced charges related to a string of four bank robberies on Feb. 12.

Richard Orr, 24, has been arrested after allegedly robbing four banks on foot on the north end of the city, reports CTV News.

RCMP says they were first called to a bank robbery on 152 Street at about 2 p.m. where a suspect allegedly threatened a bank employee and demanded money before fleeing.

Over the next four hours, the suspect robbed two more banks — one on 101 Avenue and another on 96 Avenue.

Orr was arrested outside a fourth bank on King George Boulevard, just before 6 p.m. He is now charged with four counts of robbery.
