RCMP in Kamloops have made an arrest in connection with a robbery and kidnapping case that spanned from Kamloops to Kelowna last week.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says a 36-year-old Kamloops man was taken into custody Wednesday morning.

"Through investigation, the Kamloops RCMP Serious Crimes Unit has identified suspects believed to have been involved in last week's robbery and kidnapping," said Cpl. Shelkie in a news release.

"Because firearms were used in the crime, Kamloops RCMP engaged the Southeast District ERT. A residence on Brandon Avenue was surrounded and the suspect was taken into custody without incident."

Police expect to release more information later today.

A woman was kidnapped during an armed robbery in Kamloops on the morning of Feb. 14.

Investigation into that incident led police to an apartment on Bernard Avenue in Kelowna.

Several people were apprehended at the apartment and two more were taken into custody the following morning after a vehicle was stopped in Falkland. The kidnap victim was also found in that vehicle.

One person has already been charged in connection with the incident.

Justin Daniels was arrested on Feb. 14 in Kelowna and charged with robbery with a firearm and illegally confining five people.

He remains in custody, and is scheduled to appear in a Kelowna courtroom again on Feb. 28.
