In-bounds avalanche

Two people have been rescued after getting caught in an avalanche Friday afternoon at a ski resort in Southwestern Alberta.

One person was completely buried in the avalanche that occurred in-bounds near a ski lift at Castle Mountain Resort, 145 kilometers West of Lethbridge, CTV News reports.

The other was partially covered by the snow and debris.

Ski patrols at the resort were able to rescue both people, and emergency crews determined they did not need to be transferred to hospital. Crews dynamited to make sure no other slides would come down before resuming resort operations.

Avalanche danger in the area is considerable to high.
