Forget Cupid, let's party

If you’re not the Romeo and Juliet type, this may be the Valentine's Day event you're looking for.

Triumph Coffee and Locality have collaborated for an evening of beer, music, food and more all in support of the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation.

The event will donate 100 per cent of the proceeds to the foundation for prostate cancer care Feb. 14 from 7:30-10:30 p.m.

This is not a Valentine’s Day Party has brought together six Vernon companies for an evening of live music, beer, food, coffee, table and lawn games, tarot card readings, straight shaves and just-for-fun speed dating at Triumph Coffee in Downtown Vernon.

“We wanted to give people something different to do for Valentine's Day," said Kate Johnson of Locality. "Whether you're single, in a relationship, into guys, girls or both it's going to be a lot of fun in a lounge atmosphere."

Johnson also noted the event serves as a launch of their new one-time subscription box for men, Brocality, which features Okanagan products.

Companies involved in the fundraiser include Okanagan Springs Brewery, Jolly Good Spudz, The Gentlemen’s Shop & Shave Parlour, Predator Ridge Resort, Locality and Triumph Coffee.

Tickets are $25 and are limited in quantity. Those 19 and over can purchase the tickets online.
