Highway 5A has now fully reopened in both directions.

After a crash closed Highway 5A for two and a half hours Thursday night, it has been reopened to single-lane, alternating traffic.

ORIGINAL: 5:50 p.m.

A vehicle crash has closed Highway 5A, south of Kamloops, Thursday night.

The crash occurred between Old Kamloops Road and Roche Lake Road just after 5 p.m.

The highway, which runs parallel to Highway 5 between Kamloops and Merritt, is closed in both directions.

An assessment of the scene is underway, and DriveBC does not currently have an estimated reopening time.
