Highway 97 traffic is being rerouted around a three-vehicle crash on Hospital Hill in Vernon.

The vehicles collided at the corner of 18th Avenue, when a left-turner was rear-ended and pushed into oncoming traffic, according to firefighters at the scene.

The crash involves a Toyota Matrix, along with Kia and Nissan compact SUVs.

Two people were taken to nearby Vernon Jubilee Hospital with minor injuries.

The highway was closed while first responders awaited police to assess the scene.

Tow trucks were waiting to clear the crash as of about 8:25 a.m.

Meanwhile, a crash involving a tractor-trailer is also reported on Highway 97, at St. Anne's Hill near O'Keefe Ranch.
