ORIGINAL: 6 p.m.

An electrical line is down on Kinney Ave and McKenzie Street in Penticton.

There is a small blaze on the corner and thick smoke is wafting off it with a strong stench.

Fire crews are on the scene as well as electrical crews. Fire crews say they are waiting for confirmation the power has been shut off before they move in to deal with the fire.

No structures are in danger currently. Kinney Avenue is closed beside London Drugs.

The public is asked to stay clear, as the high voltage line on the ground is very dangerous.
