Sally Ann falling behind

Vernon's Salvation Army is sounding the alarm it is coming up short in this year's Christmas campaign.

With only 11 days to go, the Sally Ann is $20,000 behind last year’s target.

“First and foremost, we want to thank our community for their tremendous support. The funds that are raised at Christmas not only help out individuals and families during the holiday season, but provide much-needed support all year round,” says Lt. Stefan Reid.

You can help out in a couple of ways.

Drop off funds at any kettle location or the Salvation Army's House of Hope at 3303 32nd Ave, or donate online at www.vernonhouseofhope.com

“We encourage those in our community to help us in any way possible. We know that this time of the year can be challenging for many, however it’s because of these generous donations that give people hope during the Christmas season," says Reid.
