Rockets enjoy home cookin'

The  Kelowna Rockets picked up where they left off when they last took the ice at Prospera Place.

The Rockets won their fourth straight on home ice Wednesday, a 3-2 win over the Regina Pats. It was their first home appearance in 18 days.

Nolan Foote led the way for the Rockets scoring a pair of power play goals. Kyle Crosbie also scored.

Liam Kindree and rookie Lassi Thomson each had a pair of assists.

Crosbie opened the scoring less than three minutes in. His initial shot was partially blocked, but Crosbie collected the puck and backhanded in his third of the season.

Foote doubled the lead near the midway mark of the second when his shot from the right circle beat Pats netminder Dean McNabb.

After the Pats cut the deficit in half, Foote closed out the scoring with his second of the night and fourth in two games.

Thomson set Foote up near the top of the right faceoff circle. His wrist shot sailed past McNabb for what proved to be the game winner.

The Pats got a power play marker on their own in the final minute of the game, but were unable to get the equalizer past Roman Basran.

Basran turned away 29 shots to earn the victory.

The Rockets, winners of two in a row, play host to the Victoria Royals Friday.
