Tribute to the face of winter

Get excited about the winter shredding season all while supporting the Vernon Ski Club this Thursday evening.

Head on down to the Vernon Towne Cinema for the 69th installment ski and snowboard film, Face of Winter, produced by Warren Miller Entertainment.

"The late, great Warren Miller built his legacy capturing the essence of winter magic, and today that legacy launches the start of the ski and snowboard season," stated in Vernon Ski Club press release. "In the 69th feature film, celebrate the man who became known as the face of winter throughout the industry, and the places and people he influenced along the way."

The film, presented by Volkswagen, brings new and veteran athletes alike together to pay tribute to the man who 'started it all.'

"We have brought this movie to Vernon for decades now as a fun event for the community to get excited for skiing."

Warren Miller Entertainment has been a pioneer in action sports cinematography since 1949. Face of Winter is the 69th installment of its feature film library.

Door will open at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 7 p.m. sharp.

There will be door prizes and 'swag' giveaways.

Tickets available at Olympia Cycle and Ski, Bean Scene and any left over will be sold at the door.
