Body ID'd as Hells Angel

UPDATE: 6:45 p.m.

A man found dead under the Golden Ears Bridge has been identified as a full-patch Hells Angels member.

The victim has been identified on social media as Chad Wilson, who became a Hells Angel in San Diego.

In 2006, Wilson was charged with attempted murder following a shootout with a rival biker gang in South Dakota. He claimed self defence and was acquitted, but served jail time for weapons charges.

He was also arrested in Spain in 2013, where he was accused of involvement in a cocaine smuggling ring.

Last year, he is said to have helped found a new chapter of the biker gang called Hells Angels Hardside.

Police have yet to publicly identify Wilson as the victim.

Hells Angels members showed up at a Maple Ridge homicide scene over the weekend.

A body was found underneath the Golden Ears Bridge Sunday morning.

Police aren't saying if the victim was associated with the biker gang. However, several men in Hells Angels clothing showed up Sunday and crossed police lines to get closer to the scene.

"Guys, you need to leave right now or you'll be arrested for obstruction. This is your only warning," an officer told them. "This is your only warning. Leave right now. Right now!"

The men left peacefully after a brief discussion with police.

The cause of death hasn't been released, but the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating, and the scene is still behind police tape.

The deceased was known to police.
