Bogarh back in court

Paramjit Singh Bogarh will be back in a Vernon Supreme court room Dec. 10 for a pre-trial conference.

Bogarh is facing one count of first-degree murder and one count of conspiring to commit murder relating to the 1986 New Year’s Eve death of his wife Saminder Kaur Bogarh.

The case was in court Tuesday when Crown Counsel Ann Saettler asked for, and was granted, a publication ban on all of the proceedings before the case goes to trial.

Paramjit and his brother, Narinder Singh Bogarh, are co-accused in the murder of Saminder.

Paramjit was married to Saminder at the time of the murder. Both men were originally charged with second-degree murder, however, the charges were eventually dropped.

Shortly after Saminder's murder, both men left Canada.

Narinder is currently in India as authorities pursue extradition to Canada to face the charges.

Paramjit was extradited to Canada from the United States to face charges of first-degree murder as well as conspiracy to commit murder.
