Water work on mountain

The Black Mountain Irrigation District is asking residents to conserve water while crews repair a water main in the area.

A leaky coupling is being repaired and due to the size and scope of the job, the repair will take several days.  As a result, the district is being supplied with water from neighbouring utilities, Rutland Water Works, and the Glenmore-Ellison Improvement District. Water is being pumped up to the higher elevation service areas from Rutland flats.

Because of the repairs, there may be minor water quality variations, however, there is no change in the safety of water provided.

Customers are asked to conserve water until the advisory is lifted, likely in a week's time.

If you have questions, contact Black Mountain Irrigation District office during normal office hours, 8:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday at 250-765-5169.

Customers will be notified when normal service is restored.
