Bus depot on the market

The end is nigh for the Penticton bus depot, with the property officially up for sale ahead of Greyhound ceasing bus service throughout B.C. Oct. 31.

The approximately 0.45 acre site with its 5,500 square foot building are on the market through JLL Property for an asking price of $850,000.

An online flyer advertising the Ellis Street and Robinson Street property indicates it is zoned for high-density commercial and residential uses, which could include entertainment, retail and services.

Kelowna's bus depot went on the market back in September, with an asking price of $6 million dollars for the two-acre property.

The last Greyhound Bus out of the Penticton depot will leave at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 31, bound for West Kelowna. So far, no long-haul alternatives are in place for the South Okanagan-Similkameen, though Edmonton-based company Ebus announced recently that it will be running routes between Kelowna and Kamloops, and from both cities to Vancouver.
