Police are not releasing much in the way of details but will say that it is investigating a possible kidnapping and suspicious death on a remote rural road (Highline Rd), outside of Seton Portage.

"Lillooet RCMP members attended and located the deceased 71-year-old male," stated Cpl. Madonna Saunderson. "Due to the circumstances of this incident, the Southeast District Major Crime Unit has taken charge of the investigation, and is being assisted by the Lillooet RCMP Detachment and the RCMP Southeast District Forensic Identification Services."

Police believe the death to be an isolated incident.

The investigation is in its early stages, therefore, no further details will be released at this time. 

Seton Portage has a population of roughly 400 people and is located roughly halfway between Pemberton and Lillooet.
