Head to head on prop rep

The Kelowna Chamber of Commerce is set to host a debate on proportional representation.

Marina Dobrinskaya, who is representing the “yes” side, and Bill Tieleman, who is arguing against changing our system of voting, will have their say in preparation for the referendum that will determine the format of future provincial elections.

They'll square off Wednesday at the Coast Capri Hotel, during a chamber-hosted luncheon.

B.C. residents will vote via mail between Oct. 22 and Nov. 30 on the issue.

Dobrinskaya and Tieleman both received $500,000 in B.C. taxpayers’ money to campaign for their side in the proportional representation debate.
