Civic Election 2018

Kevin Lepp

Castanet posed a question on truth and accountability to all 24 candidates and gave them four days to respond.

The candidates were asked to keep their responses to a maximum of 300 words and were asked to respond to the truth and accountability question no later than 12 p.m. (noon) Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018.

During elections, candidates are often elected based on promises they are unknowingly unable to keep.

How does your platform set you apart when it comes to truth and accountability?

Answer

This process has been interesting, and I want to acknowledge all those candidates who have put their name forward to run for council and mayor.

It is hard work.

With our community facing some serious issues citizens are looking for answers.

As far as expressing how my platform sets me apart from others in this campaign I have been authentic.

My goals are focused on trying to be a change agent and advocate for our City and residents.

What you see is what you get no pretense or façade.

I am realistic that if elected I will be participating as a team member and working within that team to move and direct ideas and change for the City.

The Master plans developed by the City of Vernon and RDNO has great potential.

The new Relationship Accord that was signed October 13, 2018, between the Okanagan Indian Band and City Vernon is historic.

It is going to create positive momentum forward. Ultimately, I want to see our City and the surrounding areas thrive.
