Charges in violent spree

Charges have been laid following a violent crime spree in downtown Vancouver last week.

Jesse William Swain, 27, has been charged with three counts of assault with a weapon, robbery, theft under $5,000, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failure to stop at an accident involving bodily harm, and failure to stop at an accident with a vehicle.

The Vancouver resident was arrested Friday after he allegedly carjacked an SUV and crashed into multiple vehicles and a pedestrian.

Construction workers tackled the suspect after he allegedly pepper sprayed Good Samaritans who were giving chase when he fled on foot.
