This pig was wandering around East Hill Thursday morning.

Found: one pot bellied pig.

The wandering porker was spotted in the East Hill area of Vernon Thursday morning.

“I thought it was a bear at first. I heard the grunting and was getting ready to run,” said Terry Bernard who was working in the garden when he heard the unusual sound.

Corinne Bernard said they were “quite surprised” when it turned out to be a pot-bellied pig.

The wayward pig was corralled into a neighbour's yard while the SPCA was called.

“Nobody knew whose pig it was,” said Terry.

Corinne said the pig is now at the Vernon SPCA, but she is not sure if the owner has been found yet.
