Sights set on world's fittest

Kelowna's Brent Fikowski is one of the world's fittest men.

Fikowski placed fourth at the 2018 Reebok Crossfit Reebok games in Madison, Wis., last week, competing against the top CrossFit athletes from around the globe.

"They went well. It was a lot of fun. It was hard as usual, and like any year you train all year for it and then in a blink of an eye it's done, over and you're back home, and you are kind of wondering what all happened," he said.

The Kelowna athlete finished second in the 2017 games, and he says this year's results have made him even more hungry to claim top spot on the podium.

"I just like to do my best, and let the chips fall where they fall and be proud of that. It's going to be a really good year of training, and I'm always excited to come back home here to Kelowna and train."

"I want to be back up on that podium, and if nothing else, be back in the mix of those top five or six athletes to put on a show which is a lot of fun," Fikowski added.

The 27 year old says he can seem himself competing for years to come.

"You know, every year I say ugh, one or two more years. But I feel as healthy as I have ever felt. I feel healthier than when I was 20 years old playing volleyball. I can see myself doing this for three to six years at the highest level."

Fikowski says his training for the 2019 games begins next week.
