A woman and her dog have disappeared during a hike in Jumbo Pass in Southeast B.C.
Police say a group of six people was hiking in the area on Sunday when the woman from Cranbrook went for a short walk by herself and didn't return.
The hikers called for help on Monday by setting off a satellite activation device.
Police say 52-year-old Louise Baker was dressed for the conditions, but not equipped for the night.
She also took her golden poodle with her on a leash.
The area is steep and treacherous, so a helicopter is being used, in combination with help from search and rescue personnel from the Columbia Valley, Golden, Cranbrook, Kimberley and Creston.
