Vernon Film Society moving

After nearly two decades in the same location, the Vernon Film Society is moving locations to the Galaxy Theatre in Polson Mall.

Ginny Cameron-Enns is a director with the society. She says it wasn't an easy decision to move after many years, but it made financial sense for the society to make the switch.

"We were just losing money that past two years," explains Cameron-Enns. "We knew we were going to go under if we didn't make the change."

The society will also be changing its showing days to Wednesday.

The first film at the new home will be "Hearts beat loud" a Brett Haley comedy starring Nick Offerman, Ted Danson, Toni Collette, Kiersey Clemons, Blythe Danner and Sasha Lane.

The Vernon Film Society was re-activated in 1982 by a group interested in bringing to Vernon alternative films to those being offered at the local theatres.
