The BC Wildfire Service is coming under some criticism for the way it has handled some lightning-caused wildfires in the Central Okanagan.
Both the Mount Eneas and Goode's Creek fires began Tuesday night, and were relatively small before strong winds sent them out of control Wednesday afternoon.
Gerry Zimmermann, who was Kelowna's fire chief during the 2003 Okanagan Mountain Park Fire, says jurisdiction prevented him from sending his crews in to knock down that fire when it started.
Meantime, the BCWS says limited resources, and other priorities, prevented them from tending to this weeks' fires right away.
