Evacuation alerts for a number of properties at the end of Lakeshore Road in Kelowna have been rescinded.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan announced late Friday afternoon the evacuation alerts for 15 homes from 6006 to 8888 Lakeshore Road have been removed.

Those alerts were issued Wednesday evening in response to the Goode's Creek fire.

A lightning strike sparked that fire Tuesday night near Okanagan Lake across from Peachland.

Heavy winds Wednesday afternoon whipped the fire out of control.

It is currently mapped at 400 hectares.
