Summer science fun

Anyone looking for something this summer to do that does not involve getting sand in your food, should check out the Okanagan Science Centre.

The Polson Park facility is running a variety of special programs all summer.

Jim Swingle, OSC executive director, said the programs are not only fun, but educational for all ages.

“We're really excited, we have a number of programs for visitors,” said Swingle, adding the special programs are included in the regular price of admission or free for members.

“The schedule is on our website, but there are planetarium shows, gryro-chair rides, chances to meet the different reptiles that live here, magic mud programs on butterflies – pretty much anything that interests you, at some point this summer we'll have a program on it,” said Swingle.

Swingle said the summer programs are to make things more fun for guests and to give people a hands-on experience.

“It's a great place if you want a break from the heat or if it a rainy day and want some indoor activities it's a great place to come,” said Swingle.
