Another Castanet reader has let us know that this particular plane is an amphibious model known as the 'Lake'.

The plane is registered to an owner in Surrey B.C. with a base of operations out of Springbank Alberta.

So it truly is a Lake on a lake.

Seeing people tanning on boats in the summer is typical throughout the Okanagan.

But what one Castanet reader captured on camera at Cousins Bay near Vernon on Saturday is slightly rarer.

A man landed his plane on Kal Lake and then sunbathed on the wing of it.

"I can say he is living his best life and just winging it," the Castanet reader said.

Who knew planes had a dual purpose?
