Congestion clears on 97

UPDATE: 1:55 p.m.

It appears the slowed traffic on Highway 97 near UBC Okanagan has cleared, after an incident earlier in the day backed up traffic in the southbound lanes to the airport.

ORIGINAL: 12:12 p.m.

What appears to be a collision on Highway 97 has brought southbound traffic to a crawl near UBC Okanagan.

Traffic is currently backed up from the Petro-Pass Truck Stop, just north of Reid's Corner, to Kelowna International Airport.

Anastasia, a motorist who was stuck in the traffic, said emergency crews are on scene, and police directed them off Highway 97, onto Edwards Road, after they were stuck for about 15 minutes.

The nature of the incident is unclear at this time.
