A woman was crossing Main Street at Eckhardt Avenue in Penticton with her young son Friday when a car struck the stroller and knocked it over.
The light was green for the woman at the time. The car was turning right from Main Street onto Eckhardt, and fled the scene following the hit.
It was described as a gold, older model sedan, possibly a Honda Civic. An unidentified bystander is reported to have yelled at the woman to call the police.
The young boy was taken to hospital but did not suffer any serious injury.
Cst. Kyle Hay of the Penticton RCMP is asking for any members of the public with information about the issue to contact the police at 250-492-4300, or email him directly at [email protected].
