Guns drawn in Mission

UPDATE: 11 a.m.

Officials with the Kelowna RCMP say officers descended upon the area around KLO and Lakeshore Drive Friday morning after receiving a report that an emotionally distraught man, believed to be armed, was broadcasting live on social media.

The man was believed to be in Kelowna.

Given information available, Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey says officers went to the area and restricted traffic in the 3300 block of Lakeshore Road.

"Investigators were able to determine that the subject was not in the Kelowna area, but rather, in another jurisdiction," said O'Donaghey.

"As a result, all area roadways were re-opened shortly after 10 a.m."
