Gunfire noises investigated

Following reports of gunfire in Mission Creek Park Sunday night, RCMP have investigated.

Around 7 p.m. on May 20, Kelowna RCMP received a report of two possible gunshots in the Mission Creek Park area near 2636 Springfield Road. Though officers conducted searches both on foot and in vehicles, they did not find anything suspicious in nature.

Witnesses were unable to agree on where they believed the noises were coming from.

The RCMP believe at this time that there is no reason to think any firearms were discharged. They think the loud bangs could possibly have come from propane cannons or similar devices used to frighten birds away from agricultural properties.
