Logan Lake fire at 140 ha

Crews continue to battle a fire near Logan Lake that has swelled to 140 hectares.

At 9 p.m. Tuesday, the fire was estimated to be 25 hectares.

Marla Catherall, communications assistant with the Kamloops Fire Centre, said there are 60 firefighters on site along with several pieces of heavy equipment.

Air tankers and helicopters are also actioning the blaze from above.

“Their main goal is to keep the fire from moving north and to focus on containment,” said Catherall, adding the fire is seven kilometres north of Logan Lake near Tunkwa Lake Road.

“There are no structures being threatened,” she said.

The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation, but it is suspected to be human caused.
