Capital city traffic woes

The dismantling of Victoria's old Johnson Street Bridge is causing some commuter chaos.

Drives typically taking five minutes dragged into half-hour headaches, Wednesday, as bridge closures clogged city traffic.

The new replacement bridge shut down from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday so dismantling work previously delayed by high winds could continue.

The new bridge will close again today.

The work has diverted traffic to the Bay Street Bridge, where drivers were delayed by up to 30 minutes.
