Police are on the hunt for an armed man who broke into a Vancouver Island home in the early morning hours of Monday and stole cash.

The break and enter occurred just after 3 a.m. on the 2200-block of Sooke's Church Road.

A resident inside the trailer was confronted by the masked man, who demanded cash.

The two residents were unharmed during the robbery .

Police are currently trying to determine if the robbery was linked to the discovery of a bag nearby that contained a “substantial quantity” of drugs, including more than 50 grams of methamphetamine and hundreds of prescription pills including oxycontin.

Police have asked anyone with information about the incidents to call Sooke RCMP at 250-642-5241.
