Iconic rollercoaster turns 60

The smell of mini donuts is almost in the air in Vancouver, with the opening day of the Playland Amusement Park just around the corner.

On Saturday, May 5, the gates will once again open to rides like The Hellevator, The Beast and The Revelation, as well as the midway and the glass house.

Classic food offerings including FunDunkers Donut Stand, beaver tails, Cheese Please and Triple O's will also be back from previous summers.

Arguably the most iconic attraction on site, though, is the Playland Wooden Coaster, which turns 60 years old this year.

PlayPasses are currently available online and give holders access to over 35 rides, attractions and games, including Pacific Adventure Golf, which is included in the admission price for the first time this year.
